Exploring Animation

Exploring Animation, is our outreach work with young people across Devon. Working with organisations such as Libraries Unlimited, we aim to provide funded introductory animation workshops for young people aged 7-13yrs in accessible settings. â€‹

A large part of the remit and ethos of Animating Devon is to mentor young people in many underrepresented minorities in the animation industry. We are grounded in offering opportunities to all.

By offering workshops that can be out of reach for many, we can take an activity that

is fun and creative, whilst introducing skills for everyday life - planning, problem

solving, communication, resilience working together by stealth.

Our regional outreach work, as well as support we give colleges and universities in

Devon, is rooted firmly in inspiring talent development locally and also encouraging

that talent to stay locally, building a strengthened creative community, the earlier

that relationship can be built and made accessible for all, the greater benefit it has

for Devon and beyond.

Exeter City Grants

In September 2025, we were awarded an Exeter City Grant to deliver animation workshops to children in the Exeter area aged 7-13yrs, who may not ordinarily have access to such activities. In 2026, we will be delivering workshops within Library settings, and we are also looking to partner with 3 schools. If you are a school in Exeter, and would like to talk about hosting a stop motion animation workshop please email: info@animatingdevon.com â€‹â€‹â€‹
